Carolina Coast
I was exiled to a remote island in the Carolinas a few weeks ago. I'll call it "Golf Island." I don't participate in the sport so I found other ways to have fun. This old lighthouse is the tallest structure on the small patch of land.
A female companion told me that Spanish moss is a big seller at craft stores. It's free on Golf Island.

Curious to see the kind of view twenty million dollars buys, I trespassed on the island's most costly property. Not bad.
At the far corner of the island, powerful currents converge to create an unusual wave pattern. This area looked like it would make for excellent surfing, but I was told that the wicked undercurrent is deadly. (I don't believe it.)
Creatures abound. These little crabs are ridiculous.
I like lizards. I didn't even mind the island's alligators.
Monsters rule the night.
I spent a lot of time watching birds.
Sometimes having nothing to do is nice.
